Balance with Alison Bechtel Clark | Part 1

How She Worked Two Days a Week & Doubled Her Income – Finding Balance with Alison Bechtel Clark

Balance is not about doing less in your life. It’s more about knowing what matters most and making choices to spend your time, talent and treasure doing those things.

In this episode of the PSI Podcast, hosts Tim Bowen and Brandon Oshiro sit down with personal coach, PSI Women’s Leadership instructor, triathlete, mother and business owner Alison Bechtel Clark to rethink what a balanced life actually looks like.

Alison shares how she once worked 14 to 17 hours a day and allowed her business to consume nearly all of her time. When she became a mother, she had to reconsider what she valued, find new resources and create a different way to work. Eventually, she reduced her schedule to two eight-hour days while doubling her income.

Her experience revealed an important truth: balance does not require you to stand still or give equal attention to everything. It requires you to remain present, respond to what life needs from you and make decisions based on your values.

Alison also explores the PSI Peace of Mind Square, which looks at the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual areas of your life. By honestly assessing each area, you can identify where you feel out of alignment and decide what needs your attention now.

The conversation also offers practical advice for setting boundaries and saying no without guilt. Sometimes declining a request protects your time, supports your most important commitments and gives someone else the opportunity to solve their own problem.

When you know what you value, it becomes easier to recognize which opportunities support the life you want to create and which ones do not.
